Everytime I hit rocky times, I remember a tape (I know, what are those?) that we used to listen to as kids. Psalty the Singing Song Book was the main character who worked to get kids excited about worshipping Jesus in every aspect of their lives.

On two occasions, Psalty had this great ministry initiative that he was doing with the kids and (audibly) God was trying to get his attention. Psalty and the kids didn’t hear God and eventually God “pulled the plug” on the whole thing. Once God was back at the center of the ministry it went forward.

I think there are times in my life where I am trying to carry some great initiative but I have not spent necessary time in prayer and preparation. In the last several days, we have been denied three of the four permits we needed to reach out in Madrid when the group from Dallas comes. I spent some time in prayer and then began calling amongst our community of believers here in Madrid to see if we could do anything. By God’s grace they responded! Not only that but one of the city halls actually called back to say they had changed their minds about the permit!

When God is at the center, things begin to happen. “The horse is made ready for battle, but the victory rests with the Lord.” Proverbs 21:31
