Getting Ready

After eight months, we are returning to the States! Don't get me wrong, we love living in Spain and being missionaries here. The ministry has been phenomenal and God continues to open the doors with each month. On the other hand...there's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home.

Our trip will be a whirlwind of meetings with friends and family from the day we arrive to the day before we leave, three weeks later. In total, at the moment we are scheduled to meet with 48 families, couples, or individuals. We are hoping to add on another 10 or 12 to make an even 60 folks we are meeting with. Wow! Exciting times.

I must say, I enjoy the busy schedule.

Two Weeks

In just two weeks we will be heading to the States for a very busy three week trip. We are so excited to see so many friends and our families as well. It has been a year since we saw Jamie's family and so she is pumped.

As for the rest of the trip, I am working hard trying to make sure that we have little time to breathe as we travel. We have most days where we will be meeting with people breakfast, lunch and dinner and in between.

All in all we are very excited!

Now one note of importance...we will be missing the first four games of Real Madrid. Suffice to say this has been an issue of concern for me, but thanks to the internet there will be ways to watch but I must confess that I am not happy to miss live broadcasting of the best team in the world! Oh well.

A Night with the King

I watched "A Night with the King" two years ago when we are on a bus during a mission trip to Japan (that's a mouthful). You never quite catch everything when you watch things on a bus...in any case, I just watched it with my wife this morning. It's pretty interesting. It's not totally accurate, especially at the end of the movie.

I think the thing that I found most interesting was the connection of Haman (the evil prince) to King Agag of the Amalekites. I will have to look that one up to see if they are truly connected. If they are connected then it once again brings to light the failures of King Saul and how it almost cost the Jews their lives.

Did you know that the name of God is not used a single time in the book of Esther? There are many theories and it also was one reason why some scholars thought it should be excluded from the Bible. I think it is a phenomenal story that shows how God is at work behind the scenes even though He may not be involved.

Late Game

Late game on tonight as Madrid is playing in Toronto. I think I can be qualified as a hardcore fan.

Not sure what channel it is on in the States but it will be worth the watch.
